18th July (Closed Auditions) – 5pm
12th September (Live Finals) – 6pm


We are looking for young drummers aged 11-18


We need to see you play 2 pieces. One with a backing track, and one without

PDC Young Drummer Competition 2021

Firstly, for the initial application process, you will need to upload an unlisted video to YouTube and provide us with the link in the form below. You need to perform 2 pieces, one with a backing track, and one without i.e. improvisation.

Once the applications close, we will review all video and be in touch with all of the young drummers to let you know if you’re successful.

The auditions will be held at our brand new PDCave on the 18th July 2021. For this you will need to prepare 2 pieces, one with a backing track, and one without i.e. improvisation, and will just need to bring a pair of sticks.

Once the auditions are complete, we will then invite a select few finalists to perform at a live final on the 12th September. All finalists will receive a goody bag.

On the night, the winner of the Young Drummer Competition will be announced and they will win, a brand new snare drum, a slot at the John Bonham Celebration Festival 2022, and featured in their own PDClinic!

Additional Information

We require a YouTube link to your drumming to be able to consider your application.

The video can be either public or unlisted. We will not share any submitted videos without permission.

Please do not send us ‘Private’ videos as we will not be able to access the link.

There is a £10 admin fee for anyone who attends the audition stages of the competition
